Job description


Job Summary: Under general supervision of the Clinic Administrator, Office Manager and Clinic RN, uses the nursing process to safely provide patient care and patient education. Workload will be determined by clinic's appointment schedule, clinic staffing levels and the needs and priorities of the outpatient clinics. Must be willing to be reassigned within clinic or willing to float to another clinic. Assignment to another clinic is possible and is established by daily review of overall outpatient clinics appointment schedules and staffing needs. The Clinic LPN will be assigned up to 40 hours per week according to the needs of the clinic and staff. Some weekend work may be required. The Clinic LPN is expected to function within the LPN's scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the clinic and organization. Will be responsible to assist the Clinic RN and Office Manager with orientation and preceptorship for clinic technicians and clerical staff assigned to clinic. Must be able to work and relate in a professional, non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors. Will be responsible to document clinic patient care given, assist with review and maintenance of patient chart per clinic policy, and assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into computer system. Attendance to yearly mandatory education requirements is nonnegotiable and will be the responsibility of the employee to arrange and attend sessions.
