Job description

Responsible for keeping assign areas clean, sanitary and aseptic by scouring, scrubbing, mopping and polishing using approved germicides and cleaners. Removes trash from containers. Performs high dusting spot cleaning, bathroom cleaning, restock all dispensers through out facility, clean offices, utility rooms, lounges and all other rooms as assigned by supervisor.

Pay transparency:  St. Joseph's Health provides a salary range to comply with New Jersey Law.  The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc." The salary range does not include incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation.


  1. Work requires the ability to read and understand written instruction and no previous experience, 
  2. High School diploma or equivalent preferred plus three to six months on the job training and orientation.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Works with equipment or performs procedures where carelessness would probably result in minor cuts, bruises or muscle pulls.
  • Works in an area in which there is exposure to hazardous chemicals or carcinogenic agents which requires caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment.

  • Work requires exposure to blood and various body fluids which requires caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment.
  • Works in an area that is very uncomfortable because of extreme temperatures, noise levels, odors or other similar conditions.
  • Work requires handling of hot liquids, toxic or flammable chemicals, or contaminated materials which requires caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Standing for more than two hours at a time
  • Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, scaffolding, or ramps Stooping or bending
  • Manual dexterity, reach and grasp objects
  • Color vision - the ability to identify and distinguish colors
  • Ability to hear and communicate orally
  • Pushing or pulling supply carts
