What does a per diem nurse at Elliot Hospital do?

A Per Diem position at Elliot Hospital refers to a flexible, as-needed role where employees work shifts based on the hospital's staffing needs rather than a regular, set schedule. Per Diem staff may be called in to cover for absences, increased patient loads, or special circumstances. This type of position offers flexibility for both the employee and the hospital, but it may not include the same benefits or guaranteed hours as full-time roles. Per Diem workers are often required to meet certain availability requirements and maintain the same professional standards as regular staff.

Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and hospital protocols is typically required, and certifications such as BLS or ACLS may be necessary depending on the department.
