Job description

Per Diem Administrative Assistant

Seeking a Per Diem Administrative Assistant in high volume rehab services department. Provides support functions to patients, clinical and administrative staff; ensures attention to detail and aids in the completion of patient scheduling, managing referrals, obtaining prior authorizations and insurance coverage. Position does regular evening hours until 6:00pm.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

  • One to three years previous experience as a Medical Administrative Assistant/Secretary in a healthcare practice (therapy/rehab dept, physicians practice or other clinic environment)
  • Excellent communication, organization and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of insurance processes, benefit verification, and therapy authorization requirements strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in EMR systems, scheduling software.
  • Ability to work as team member in a fast-paced, patient focused environment.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, understanding of rehab services strongly preferred.
  • Computer skills

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

License/Certification: N/A
