Job description

STATUS: Per Diem
LOCATION: Clifton Springs Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Imaging
SCHEDULE: Call Coverage Only (Monday - Friday, 4:30P-7A, & weekend rotation)

The Sonographer obtains high-quality images while providing exceptional patient care and maintaining a consistent level of quality.
Rochester Regional Health's Imaging and Radiology teams provide the highest quality diagnostic and treatment imaging services to the Western, Central, and Finger Lakes New York communities. ATTRIBUTES
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate OR Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification required (within six (6) months of graduation from an accredited program, within one (1) year of graduation from a non-accredited program).

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ultrasound Scans. Perform abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, and/or transcranial Doppler ultrasound scans; produce ultrasound images and obtain all required measurements; assist attending physicians with invasive procedures under sonographic guidance.
  • Documentation. Note performance of scans in patient charts and complete preliminary reporting; phone preliminary reports into doctors' offices or nursing floors at the request of the Radiologist

Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
  • For Radiology sites/affiliates with ACR accreditation, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification required (within 6 months of graduation from Commission on Accreditation of Allied Programs (CAAHEP), or within 18 months of graduation from a non-accredited program).
  • For Neurovascular & Vascular, the RDMS is not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.
