Physical Therapist (Per Diem, Weekend) – Vassar Brothers Medical Center
Location: Vassar Brothers Medical Center
Schedule: Per Diem – Minimum 2 weekend days per month with some weekday availability
Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $67.00 per hour

About the Role
Vassar Brothers Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Per Diem Physical Therapist (PT) to join our weekend rehabilitation team. In this role, you will evaluate, treat, and educate patients across the lifespan — including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. You will follow medically prescribed physical therapy programs to help patients recover from injury, illness, or surgery, and achieve their highest level of independence and function.
As a valued member of our Physical Therapy Department, you’ll provide compassionate, evidence-based care that makes a meaningful difference in patients’ lives.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with physical disabilities, traumatic injuries, pain, or functional limitations.
  • Develop and implement personalized therapy plans to restore function, improve mobility, and relieve pain.
  • Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises, mobility strategies, and recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.

Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program with a B.S. or M.S. in Physical Therapy.
  • Experience: New graduates are encouraged to apply!
  • License: Active New York State Physical Therapist license or eligibility with a temporary permit.

  • Physical Effort: Very heavy effort; may exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
