Job description

Loan Support Specialist

Dahlia Building | Hybrid Work from Home (3 days per week in office)

Bellingham, WA

Monday โ€“ Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm | 40 hours per week

A Day in Your Life at Peoples Bank:

As a Loan Support Specialist, you will be responsible for managing daily tasks within the Loan Servicing department. You will be a key resource for loan servicing personnel, loan officers, loan support staff, and other departments, providing assistance and resolving issues related to loan servicing. In addition, you will support the four desks in the Loan Servicing department: Maintenance, Payoffs & Releases, Payment, or Escrow & Insurance. You may also be trained across the other desks within the department to provide support to their team as needed.

Your Primary Responsibilities Would Include:

  • Processing loan advances and payments received daily.
  • Performing loan research for branch offices and customers.
  • Receiving, processing, and responding to loan payoff requests and processing paid loan files.
  • Managing Service Desk tasks, including inquiries specific to job duties.
  • Processing final title and deed of trust documents.
  • Managing escrow processing, including annual escrow analysis and escrow disclosure process.
  • Collaborating with other departments to resolve loan-related issues.
  • Supporting the implementation of new loan servicing procedures and technologies.
  • Participating in training sessions to stay updated on loan servicing practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

What You Bring to the Team:

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of banking experience.
  • Knowledge of insurance, escrow, and FNMA requirements.
  • Previous loan servicing, loan documentation, or loan processor experience.
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • One year or more in a customer service role.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including professional etiquette and service mentality.
  • Skilled at business communication, both verbal and written.
  • Strong professional demeanor and high regard for confidentiality.
  • Ability to travel to other Peoples Bank locations and off-site for meetings and/or training as required.
  • Ability to model the Peoples Bank Mission, Vision, and Values.
