Job description

Avocet Aviation Services is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our growing FAA Part 145 Repair Station team at Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB).


This leadership role is responsible for supervising aircraft maintenance personnel, coordinating production activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving on-time aircraft deliveries. The ideal candidate is a hands-on aviation leader with a strong maintenance background, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for operational excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and supervise aircraft maintenance personnel during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with FAA regulations, approved technical data, and company procedures.
  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities to achieve aircraft delivery schedules.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Quality Control, Engineering, Planning, and Materials teams.
  • Monitor labor utilization, productivity, and project milestones.
  • Conduct employee coaching, performance management, and workforce development.
  • Support a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
  • Review maintenance documentation and support quality assurance processes.
  • Coordinate parts availability and resolve production constraints.
  • Communicate project status, schedule risks, and operational updates to management.
  • Support customer interactions and aircraft delivery activities.


Qualifications

Required

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations and aircraft maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, and technical data.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must be eligible to be listed on the Repair Station Electronic Roster.

Preferred

  • 2+ years of supervisory, Lead Mechanic, or Crew Chief experience.
  • Experience in FAA Part 145 Repair Station operations.
  • Heavy maintenance, modification, or aircraft overhaul experience.
  • Familiarity with Pentagon 2000 or similar MRO ERP systems.
