Breast Imaging
The Department of Radiology at the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State University College of Medicine is seeking a full-time subspecialty trained radiologist to serve in the Division of Breast Imaging. This is a non-tenure position and awarded academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
The Department has a strong commitment to serve the clinical, education, and research mission of the University and a collegial and collaborative relationship with the clinical services. The expanding Division of Breast Imaging currently has 7 dedicated breast imaging faculty that cover an academic breast imaging service including screening, diagnostic, and procedural examinations. The academic Breast Imaging Division works collaboratively with the Community Radiology Breast Division to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to all patients in the Penn State Health system. They will join our group of 52 academic faculty and 32 community practice radiologists in a growing academic health system that includes the academic Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center and 4 regional community hospitals.
This position will provide on-site radiology coverage for our academic practice, which includes our East Campus interdisciplinary breast center in Hershey, an outpatient breast imaging clinic in Camp Hill, and the interdisciplinary Lime Spring center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Comprehensive breast services include digital breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, ABUS, MRI, Savi Scout localizations, and image-guided core biopsy (stereotactic, ultrasound, and MRI). The breast imaging team works collaboratively with breast surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and pathologists to provide multidisciplinary care to our patients as well as outreach programs to increase screening participation in our local community. Breast radiologists do not take overnight or weekend call.
A passion for teaching is essential as the education of our medical students, residents, and staff is a core value of our academic mission. There is opportunity for clinical research through collaboration with our Division of Radiology Innovation and Value Enhancement (DRIVE) dedicated to outcomes research in imaging and diagnostic pathways. Collaboration with the Penn State Cancer Institute and with Penn State University is also available and encouraged.
