Job description

SUMMARY
Responsible to generate sales at the highest market level and to maintain and increase the customer base.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Respond to and resolve customer complaints.
  • Quote price and availability to customers.
  • Enter sales quotations and orders into the computer.
  • Discuss product offerings with customers and answer technical questions.
  • Follow up on desirable bills of material and other sales leads.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of competitors and industry trends through attendance at seminars, special education and training to assure timely and accurate delivery of product according to customer specification.
  • Communicate market intelligence to other areas of the companies.
  • Attend and/or staff trade shows where necessary.
  • Maintain an accurate database on sale territories, customer contacts and end users
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings.
  • Travel with outside sales representative or alone to visit customers, contacts or end users.
  • Use personal computer, data entry terminal, fax machine, other office equipment including the digital scanners.
  • Prepare and submit reports, documents and records required by company policy.
  • Utilize individually and/or further the use of total quality concepts, tools and techniques to support continuous quality improvement in all processes in which the position participates with a positive "Can Do" attitude.
  • Observe all company policies and regulations including safety, housekeeping, confidentiality of information, and quality of work with support of ISO procedures and standards.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE -
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS -
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS -
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
