Job description

Job Summary:

The PACU Registered Nurse is a clinically competent, registered perianesthesia professional nurse who prescribes delegates and coordinates age specific nursing care to patients during their preoperative and immediate postoperative experience through the nursing process of assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation. Provides support to patients waking up from anesthesia including wound maintenance, pain management and IV therapy updating attending physicians and anesthesiologists on the patients conditions. All RN’s are responsible for taking call as assigned, and should be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes of being called back in.

Education Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, A current Tennessee Nursing License. BSN or Bachelors in associated health field preferred

Certifications/Licensures:

Registered Nurse required

Experience:

Minimum one (1) year previous PACU or Critical Care Experience Required.
ASPAN certification desired.
