Fix Operations โ€“ Body Shop Department

Position: Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) Technician
Department: Body Shop
Location: Norristown
Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. โ€“ 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: As needed (based on workload)
    Reports To: Body Shop Manager

Position Summary

The Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) Technician is responsible for performing highโ€quality dent removal using paintless repair techniques. This role supports the body shop by restoring vehicles to preโ€damage condition without the need for fillers or repainting. While PDR is the technicianโ€™s primary responsibility, the employee may also assist with other tasks within the company when needed. English is optional, and not required for the position. This role requires advanced PDR skills, precision, and the ability to work efficiently in a fastโ€paced automotive repair environment.

Key Responsibilities

PDR Repair & Vehicle Restoration

  • Perform paintless dent repair on vehicles, including door dings, hail damage, minor dents, and bodyline dents. (Daily)
  • Assess damage and determine whether PDR is the appropriate repair method. (Daily)
  • Use specialized PDR tools, lighting systems, and techniques to restore panels. (Daily)
  • Ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards before release. (Daily)

Operational & Documentation Tasks

  • Review repair orders and follow job instructions accurately. (Daily)
  • Document completed work and update repair status in the body shop system. (Daily)
  • Communicate additional damage, repair limitations, or required procedures to the Body Shop Manager. (Daily)

Body Shop Support

  • Assist with vehicle inspections and damage assessments when needed. (Daily)
  • Coordinate with estimators, painters, and body technicians to ensure smooth workflow. (Daily)
  • Support the team with additional tasks when required (light disassembly, trim removal, or other shop duties). (As needed)

Organization & Safety

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. (Daily)
  • Properly store PDR tools, lights, and equipment. (Daily)
  • Follow all safety procedures and use protective equipment as required. (Daily)

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Paintless Dent Repair required.
  • English optional.
  • Strong understanding of automotive body structure and metal behavior.
  • Ability to perform highโ€quality repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
