Job description

Reports to: Quality Manager
Position Summary: Inspect precast and pre-stressed products to ensure quality complies with PDM and Precast Concrete Industry (PCI) standards.

Areas of Accountability:
  • Learn & understand company safety policies and procedures and promote compliance.
  • Assist in the transformation of the shop floor culture to one of Continuous Improvement and Accountability.
  • Demonstrate reliability through exceptional attendance.

  • Become proficient in the use of concrete match curing technology (Sure Cure System).
  • Master documentation of Quality Control testing and inspection records.
  • Obtain and maintain all pertinent certifications relating to the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute, American Concrete Institute, and various Department Of Transportation organizations.
  • Gain proficiency in reading and interpreting shop drawings.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Perform housekeeping responsibilities and implement/follow 5S organizational methodology.
  • Mark products with identification and appropriate visual markings per PDM's Color Code System.
  • Conduct and maintain documentation of: prepour inspections, postpour inspections, variance reports, bed shut down process, product repairs, shop drawings, fresh concrete testing, hardened concrete testing, aggregate moisture tests, sieve analysis, and initial set tests.
  • Inform Quality Control Manager of any nonconformity of product, personnel issues, or equipment issues.
  • Perform duties in a professional manner.
  • Work closely with the Quality Control Manager to ensure that all Quality Control duties are performed.
  • Work closely with production personnel on product quality.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: Obtain Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute Levels I and II certifications. Obtain American Concrete Institute Grade I certification. Obtain all applicable Department of Transportation certifications.
Knowledge and Skills: Basic math and computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience: Six months of experience in precast/prestressed concrete or related industry.
