Job description

PCU Float Registered Nurse

Join our team as a PCU Float Registered Nurse – make a difference across diverse units! Are you a dedicated registered nurse looking for a dynamic role that offers variety, flexibility, and career growth? Our PCU Float Pool at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking passionate, experienced nurses like you to provide top-tier patient care across multiple units and campuses. This is your chance to enhance your skills, expand your expertise, and work in a stimulating environment committed to excellence.

What you'll bring:

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and Epic EMR systems
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Extra skills that boost your profile:

  • Experience in step-down or progressive care units
  • Previous float pool or cross-departmental nursing experience
  • Additional certifications such as CCRN or PALS
  • Bilingual abilities or excellent communication skills

Ideal education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) highly preferred
  • Proven track record of at least two years of relevant clinical experience in acute care settings

Additional requirements:

  • Willingness to float between units and campuses, including Ross Heart, Brain & Spine, and Dodd
  • Flexibility to work night shifts (19:00 - 07:30), with 12-hour shifts
  • Valid NY or Ohio RN license
  • Must maintain current certifications and licenses
