Job description

Summary

  • Oversee the daily activities of the Quality Assurance (QA) Lab and Quality Control (QC) on the production floor.
  • Plans and schedules the work of a QA department for the most effective utilization of employees, equipment, and material within budgetary, cost, and quality standards.
  • This position will also include directing, disciplining, training, and assisting QC technicians.
  • Perform mock recalls audits, hold/release all finished/in-process samples, and shelf-life studies.
  • Assist with materials/receiving.
  • Maintain the following programs: FSMS, HAACP, pest control, food /allergen program, QA/QC procedures, GMP’s, and other programs.
  • Follow Company policies and procedures ensure food safety and quality per FSSC 22000.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

Required:

  • BS or BA Degree in Food Science and/or Chemistry and/or Biology plus a minimum of three years of experience in all aspects of food manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Must have work experience statistical methods of handling & reviewing investigations.

Preferred:

  • Minimum three years’ experience in all aspects of food manufacturing, packaging, and quality assurance.
  • HAACP Certified and PCQI Certified (Preventative Controls Qualified Individual)
