Job description

Position Title: Groundskeeper
Employment Type: Full-Time

Company Overview:

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Groundskeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of the community by performing daily inspections of the property, grounds, and common areas.
  • Pick up litter, empty trash receptacles, and ensure sidewalks, entrances, parking areas, courtyards, and landscaping remain clean and presentable.
  • Clean and sanitize all amenity spaces and common areas, ensuring they remain clean, organized, and presentable for residents and guests.
  • Sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, clean windows and glass surfaces, sanitize high touch surfaces, and maintain floors throughout the community.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of mail and package rooms, including removing trash, outdated notices, and other clutter.
  • Monitor janitorial supply inventory and notify the Maintenance Supervisor when cleaning products, paper goods, or other supplies need to be reordered.
  • Perform routine floor care, including operating floor scrubbers, buffers, and other cleaning equipment as needed.
  • Assist with community events by preparing and cleaning amenity spaces before and after resident use.
  • Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, vandalism, or housekeeping issues observed during daily inspections.
  • Maintain exterior amenities by removing debris, wiping outdoor furniture, cleaning grills, and keeping entrances and patios clean.
  • Assist with snow and ice removal efforts as needed during inclement weather.
  • Support apartment make readies by removing trash, sweeping, mopping, cleaning appliances, wiping cabinets, dusting, and performing detailed cleaning of vacant apartments.
  • Perform minor maintenance support tasks such as replacing light bulbs, installing smoke detector batteries, replacing first floor window screens, and other basic duties within training and skill level.
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Technicians with unit turns and other property projects as needed.
  • Maintain janitorial equipment in safe working condition and report repair or replacement needs.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operation and appearance of the community.
  • Qualifications
  • Previous experience in groundskeeping or janitorial is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized and meet deadlines.
  • May need to assist in after-hours emergencies when necessary.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb stairs on a regular basis.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
