POSITION PURPOSE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Works effectively within a team environment
- Maintains student confidentiality
- Implements Individualized Education Program (IEP) and student health plans
- Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, including listening
- Navigates doctors' orders to understand proper care for students
- Physically lifts and/or transfers students while maintaining safety
- Assists with student restrooming/toileting/diapering
- Safely and accurately prepares and administers medications and injections under the supervision of a licenses healthcare provider (school nurse)
- Administers feedings to students, via G-Tube
- Performs basic vital signs of students
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
- Other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- Certificate of Completion from a Medical Assisting Program
- Medical Assistant Certification Required (CMA (AAMA), NCMA (NCCT), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA), and NRCMA (NAHP)
- One year of experience in healthcare preferred, but not required
- Strong work ethic, professional demeanor, and upmost adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA laws/guidelines
