We're an American manufacturer of advanced 48V centric DC-DC converters with industry-leading power and current density, enabling breakthrough power delivery performance. As an engineering-focused company, we provide a hands-on opportunity to further innovate and advance the topologies, control systems, components and packaging of our power modules and the power delivery networks that drive key advancements in AI, electric vehicles, and aerospace
In this role we are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with experience and knowledge in PCB design, comfortable in a dynamic environment, and working closely with senior management, to design PCB's for applications using highly innovative and cutting edge technologies.
Job Description
• Create PCB layout for Power Converter assemblies in Altium, adhering to guidelines and rules of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and use of Vicor Central Library (VCL) for the standard footprints and component attributes.
• Follow and perform a checklist of verifications with Vicor CAD Automated (VCA) tools.
• Utilize Vicor's PLM in progressing a PCB lifecycle, with "promotions" of the PCB through different steps from Start of layout to Review, Fabrication, Assembly, and Stencil.
• Work and communicate effectively and efficiently with Electrical Design Engineers to update layouts in progress, based on the marked-up schematics they provide, or create new PCB's from prior revisions in a product platform, or as rev A.
• Work and communicate effectively and efficiently with Mechanical Engineers in to incorporate mechanical features, terminals, and keepouts in the PCB layout accurately and to obtain needed documents for PCB tape-out.
• Work and communicate effectively and efficiently with Operations/NPI Engineers to incorporate design margins in form of spacing, solder mask pattern, etc.
• Setup meetings for in-person and Zoom and conduct Layout Design Reviews with the stakeholders (Design/Apps Eng, Mech Eng, FW Eng, Compliance Eng, NPI/Ops Eng) prior to PCB tape-out.
• Follow disciplined practices in prioritizing tasks, when multiple designs are in progress, to ensure PCB tape-out is not delayed.
• Work closely with CAD Librarian to ensure effective use of VCL, troubleshoot and resolve any CAD discrepancies.
• Create PCB stencil files using VCA tools and documenting through PLM.
