Job description

Job Summary:
Haivision MCS is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Production Technician to support the assembly, integration, testing, and release of mission-critical video and communication systems. This hands-on role works closely with cross-functional engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure systems are built to specification, properly configured, and delivered on schedule. Responsibilities include hardware verification, physical component assembly, operating system imaging, software installation and licensing, and multi-stage quality control throughout the production lifecycle. The Production Technician plays a key role in system validation for customer deployment, partner commissioning, and RMA replacement, while also contributing to process standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple product lines in a structured, fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Final System Assembly:
Perform final system assembly including physical installation of GPUs and component cards, installation and imaging of operating systems (Windows), application of Macrium and proprietary C360 licenses, and configuration of custom software to meet performance and streaming requirements.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting:
License, configure, and thoroughly test components and systems for functionality and reliability. Identify and resolve technical issues during the production cycle. Conduct structured quality control (QC) checks at multiple stages, including post-assembly, pre-shipment, and project-level validation to ensure systems are deployment-ready before delivery to partners or customers.
  • Network Equipment Handling:
Set up, operate, and maintain standard IT hardware required for proper operation of other systems including computers, network switches, and routers for video processing equipment.
  • Inventory Management:
Maintain a clean and organized work environment suitable for managing high-value components and large inventories.
  • Process Adherence:
Follow, document, and help improve standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for multiple product lines, including C360, Expeditionary systems, and government contracts. Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Issue Reporting & Collaboration:
Promptly raise concerns regarding productivity, quality, or equipment performance. Work collaboratively with the quality assurance team to address defects and implement improvements.
  • Continuous Feedback:
Provide regular feedback to supervisors and engineering teams regarding production efficiency, process bottlenecks, and equipment functionality.
  • Time Management:
Perform consistently in a high-paced environment, balancing quality and output while meeting production deadlines.
  • Hardware Quality Control & Shipping Readiness:

Perform inbound hardware inspection upon receipt from the warehouse to verify configuration, condition, and bill-of-material accuracy. Own final system validation and QC prior to shipment, ensuring complete hardware packages meet project, customer, and contract requirements before delivery to partners or customer sites for commissioning.
  • RMA & Support Hardware Operations

Support hardware inspection, troubleshooting, and re-imaging activities for returned systems (RMAs), ensuring systems meet redeployment or return standards prior to shipment. Collaborate with support teams to validate hardware readiness and configuration accuracy.
  • QMS, 5S & Continuous Improvement

Participate in Quality Management System (QMS) practices, including documentation accuracy, audit readiness, and process compliance. Support 5S workplace organization initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, quality, and repeatability across production operations.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or technical training in electronics, IT, or a related field preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ preferred
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in production, systems integration, IT hardware, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience with PC hardware assembly, component installation (GPUs/cards), and Windows OS imaging and deployment
  • Working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals, network switches, and hardware connectivity
  • Experience following structured SOPs, performing quality control checks, and maintaining accurate building documentation
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments with high attention to detail
