This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations (OFO). The purpose of the position is to plan and carry out a wide variety of mission support duties for the Field Office relative to logistics, procurement, fleet management, and associated functions.
This position starts at a salary of $86,123.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $134,195.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $134,195.00 (GS-12 Step 10).
As a Mission Support Specialist (Logistics) your duties will include:

• Overseeing the agency's property management program to include acquisition, receiving, transferring, excessing, reutilization, repairing, and retiring of various types of property
• Conducting records management and producing various fleet reports and completing various activities within the agency's Fleet card program to include ordering cards, performing audits, extracting reports, reporting fraud and processing override requests
• Conducting the issuance, management and security of the Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Program
• Coordinating facility repairs and ensuring requests are recorded into the facilities management system
• Processesing various environmental, security, and safety inspections and tracking assessment findings

Qualifications
Experience GS-11: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:

• Maintaining property records, assisting with physical inventories, and helping prepare routine property reports.
• Assisting in preparing purchase requests or justifications, reconciling monthly purchase card statements, and maintaining required documentation.
• Maintaining vehicle records, and assisting with fleet management program duties such as acquisition, inventory, and disposal.
• Entering and tracking facility repair or service requests in a facilities management system, and helping to track environmental, security, or safety inspections and related findings.
• Communicating with management, staff, or outside stakeholders to obtain or provide information on logistics, property, fleet, or facilities processes, and resolving routine issues by applying established procedures and guidelines.

Education Substitution:

• You may substitute a Ph.D. or an equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M. for experience at the GS-11 grade level. Such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise three years of graduate study. If that information is not available, use 54 semester or 81 quarter hours.

Combining Education and Experience:

• To combine your education and experience, convert each to a percentage and then add the percentages. If your education is described in quarter hours, multiply by the fraction 2/3 to convert into semester hours, then divide the semester hours by 18. To determine your percentage of qualifying experience, divide your total months of experience by the required number of months of experience. Add your percentages together. The total must equal at least 100% in order to qualify. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify for positions at grade GS-11

Experience GS-12: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:

• Managing or leading logistics-related mission support functions such as property, procurement, fleet, and/or facilities management for an organizational unit or office.
• Conducting property inventories and facilitating and maintaining property records and reports in accordance with established policies and directives.
• Researching suppliers, procuring goods and services, executing purchases, reconciling statements, and maintaining documentation.
• Overseeing the fleet card program and fleet management program including ordering, receiving, inventorying, transferring, and excessing fleet vehicles.
• Coordinating facility support activities, processing environmental, security, and safety inspections and tracking assessments findings.

There is no education substitution at the GS-12 grade level.

You must:

• Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
• Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 08/26/2026.
