Job description

Basalite Building Products, LLC is one of the largest manufacturers of concrete masonry products in the Western United States. Product lines include structural block, interlocking paving stones, engineered wall systems, retaining walls, ornamental and garden products, and a full range of sack goods. SALARY RANGE $58-$66K, ANNUALLY DOE

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Customer Service Manager, this position manages inventory, material purchasing and logistics; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

    • Directing of yard personnel to increase efficiency in truck loading times
    • Schedule truck drivers and facilitate dispatching of customer orders.
    • Manage stock levels to optimize availability of products.
    • Manage and create purchase orders for all third-party materials and processes (i.e. receiving, blind receiver, auditing, receiving documents and department approvals)
    • Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with suppliers, including but not limited to, contracted freight haulers.
    • Responsible for ordering and managing inventory of resale products and manufactured products.
    • Assist the location manager in facilitating cycle-counting of inventory.
    • Works closely with yard and customer service personnel; and acts as back-up support in customer service for shipping/receiving.
    • Participates in physical semi-annual inventory counts, including ordering tags for other Basalite yards. Two weekends required a year.
    • All other duties and responsibilities assigned by company or its designated representatives.
    • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
    • Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
    • Requires minimum three years' experience in Logistics, Inventory and Purchasing with demonstrated competence.
    • Experience in the concrete block and/or sack industry, a plus.
    • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform essential duties.
    • SAP experience preferred.
    • Strong aptitude for organizing personal tasks and repetitive duties in a dynamic environment.
    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
    • Requires strong math knowledge, strong clerical and basic computer knowledge skills.
    • Working knowledge of the operations of a 10-key adding machine, copier, printer and any other office equipment required to perform duties.
    • Strong knowledge of Windows applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
    • Ability to define problems, collect data and establish facts.
    • Predictable a dn Regular attendance is required.
