POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Asphalt Paving Foreman to lead our paving crews on highway and civil infrastructure projects. In this role, you will take ownership of daily field operations, ensure high-quality asphalt laydown, and help deliver some of the most visible and impactful projects in the region. Your leadership will directly influence crew performance, safety, productivity, and project success.

JOB DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the asphalt paving crew.
  • Ensure proper setup and operation of paving equipment for smooth, consistent, and aligned asphalt laydown.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Calculate daily project budget based on crew and equipment size.
  • Utilize software to accurately report time and daily quantities, 
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, operations team, asphalt plants, trucking, and crew members.
  • Conduct a continuous evaluation of the following items: cost/yields, materials, plans and schedules, salaries, promotions, job assignments, equipment changes and needs, and quality control.
  • Maintain close contact and a good working relationship with the public, engineers, inspectors, and customers to facilitate job progress and promote a positive company image.  
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Hold daily safety meetings with assigned crew including weekly toolbox talks.
  • Ensure crew members are completing all safety tasks assigned to them.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Must have valid driver's license with positive driving history
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Train and mentor crew members as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE:

This position requires thorough knowledge of specialized field of asphalt, extensive computer knowledge, and the ability to use a variety of precision measuring instruments. Foreman must have a working knowledge of mix design and quality control associated with this field.

Foreman must be able to understand specifications and maintenance/repairs associated with supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in asphalt paving operations.
  • Strong knowledge of paving equipment and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel and work out of town when required. 
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license required.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: 

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs regularly.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Capable of climbing on and off heavy equipment safely. 
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves and boots.
  • Travel within Oklahoma and North Texas is required.
