Division: Brannan Sand + Gravel
Position: Asphalt Paving Laborer
Reports To: Project Foreman
FLSA Status: Full Time
Location: Various Denver Metro Locations
Position Summary:
This is an opportunity where hard work-ethic, dependability, and eagerness to learn are necessary to have a successful further in the Road Paving and Materials Manufacturing business. It is our desire to hire employees who have a willingness to learn and aspiration to increase skills and experience in a hands-on working environment.
General Responsibilities:
As a Paving Laborer at Brannan, you will be responsible for taking direction from superiors in the application of asphalt and aggregate materials; we build and pave roads! In your first season you can expect to learn the following:
  • Learn how to work safely – wear all PPE and why it is needed, stay out of traffic, working around heavy equipment, working around other contractors, proper lifting techniques, and awareness of your surroundings
  • Learn to shovel
  • Learn to rake
  • Help get tools out and ready in the morning – shovels, rakes, brooms, and other tools
  • Help set string lines
  • Take tickets from each truck load
  • Mark out manholes and water valve boxes on concrete before paving
  • Clean up equipment at the end of the day – paver, skid steer, clean out area
  • Clean up curb amp; gutters, cross pans, and general work area
  • Put everything back on service truck at the end of the day – shovels, rakes, brooms, string line, small tools
  • Show up to work every day, and on time every day
  • No use of cell phone during the work shift
Qualifications:
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends if or when necessary.
  • Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures!!
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen, we comply with federal regulations!
