The Position:

The Patient Assistance Coordinator plays a critical role in helping patients manage out-of-pocket healthcare expenses. This position supports patients by navigating manufacturers, foundations, and internal assistance programs, delivering timely and accurate advance beneficiary notices (ABNs), as well as assisting with complex benefit-related discussions to ensure patients receive the financial support they need. Responsibilities Include:

  • Educate and assist patients with enrollment in copay and foundation assistance programs.
  • Prepare and send enrollment forms and related correspondence for patient assistance programs.
  • Stay current on federal, state, and contractual guidelines related to copay assistance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely benefit navigation including providing support to Patient Ambassadors on complex benefit cases.
  • Create, explain, and verify ABNs to ensure accuracy and protect revenue.
  • Assist patients experiencing financial hardship through the internal Soleo Assistance Program.
  • Manage renewals for all manufacturers, foundation, and Soleo Assistance Program (SAP) cases.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer program requirements, including report creation and maintenance.
  • Support supervisors and managers with special projects assigned.

Schedule:

  • Must be able to work Full time, Monday-Friday, standard business hours of 8:30-5pm Eastern Time Zone
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of home infusion specialty pharmacy required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care reimbursement guidelines including ability to interpret payor contract fee schedules based on NDC and HCPCS units
  • Strong ability to multi-task and support numerous referrals/priorities while ensuring productivity expectations and quality are met
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel & Word
  • Knowledge of CPR+ preferred
