Job description

Anatomic & Clinical Pathologist

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Setting: Hospital-Based / On-site

Job Location: Memphis, TN| Murray, KY

Position Highlights:

  • Full-time Anatomic & Clinical Pathology role

  • Practice based within a teaching hospital environment

  • Opportunity to serve in a Medical Director leadership capacity

  • Broad surgical pathology case mix

  • Frozen section coverage required

  • Participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards

  • Support from experienced pathology assistants and technical staff

  • Collaborative and physician-led practice environment

  • Digital pathology capabilities available for most cases

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret a broad range of surgical pathology specimens

  • Perform and interpret frozen sections independently

  • Participate in diagnostic consultations with clinicians and hospital staff

  • Maintain accurate and timely pathology reporting

  • Work closely with physicians, surgeons, oncology teams, and laboratory staff

  • Participate in tumor boards and interdisciplinary discussions

  • Support resident interaction and academic collaboration where applicable

  • Serve in a Medical Director capacity with operational and clinical oversight responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hospital administration and laboratory leadership

  • Promote quality assurance and compliance initiatives

Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree

  • Board Certification in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP)

  • Strong diagnostic skills across a broad pathology case mix

  • Ability to independently perform frozen sections

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ROSE (Rapid On-Site Evaluation) procedures

  • Previous leadership or Medical Director experience

  • Experience in teaching hospital or academic environments
