What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a pathologist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Pathologist, you need a medical degree (MD or DO), board certification in pathology, and deep expertise in disease diagnosis through laboratory analysis. Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS), advanced microscopy, and molecular diagnostic tools is essential. Detail orientation, analytical thinking, and strong written and verbal communication are critical soft skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
