Job description

Danbury Hospital, part of Nuvance Health, is seeking an employed per diem Pathologist to join their group of 24 board-certified pathologists. This role offers the opportunity to work within a comprehensive health system that includes a growing cancer institute and a pathology residency program. The position is based at Danbury Hospital but will also cover Norwalk Hospital and Vassar Brothers Medical Center autopsies.

Practice Info

  • Part of a group of 24 board-certified pathologists across the system
  • Testing volume across the system is over 4 million test results per year (inclusive of approximately 50,000 surgical pathology cases)
  • Hosts a pathology residency program at the Danbury Campus and PA students from Quinnipiac University at Norwalk and Danbury campuses
  • Teaching affiliate of the University of Vermont
  • Staff pathologist at a community hospital with cancer program and wide range of clinical services

Responsibilities

  • Cover Norwalk Hospital and Vassar Brothers Medical Center autopsies
  • Interact with clinicians and laboratory staff
  • Perform frozen sections
  • Perform cytology interpretations (both GYN and non-GYN)
  • Perform rapid on-site cytology assessments
  • Perform occasional autopsies

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly rate
  • Employed W-2 position
  • Salary Range: $225/hr.

  • Proficiency in the performance of frozen sections
  • Proficiency in cytology interpretations (both GYN and non-GYN)
  • Proficiency in rapid on-site cytology assessments
  • CT and NY State Medical License or eligibility to obtain an unrestricted medical license
  • No visa sponsorship available
