Position Summary:

We are seeking a certified Pathologists Assistant to join our academic hospital s Anatomic Pathology team. The ideal candidate will perform gross dissection of surgical specimens, assist with postmortem examinations, and support the training of pathology residents and medical students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform gross examination and dictation of surgical specimens under pathologist supervision.

  • Assist in autopsies, including prosection, dissection, and documentation.

  • Photograph specimens and maintain specimen integrity for further analysis.

  • Prepare and submit tissues for histologic processing.

  • Maintain records and logs in compliance with CAP/CLIA standards.

  • Participate in teaching and training of pathology staff and students.

  • Ensure cleanliness and biosafety standards in the gross room and autopsy suite.

Qualifications:
  • Master s degree from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists Assistant program.

  • ASCP certification as a Pathologists Assistant (PA-ASCP) required or eligible within 6 months.

  • At least 1 year of relevant grossing experience (clinical internship counts).

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, pathology terminology, and lab safety protocols.
