Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (Pediatric Home Health)
Job Summary
Palmetto SpOT is seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support pediatric speech and language services in natural environments including clients' homes, daycares, and schools. We're seeking dedicated professionals who are passionate about helping children achieve their communication goals while enjoying the flexibility to create a schedule that supports their lifestyle. Qualifications / Requirements for consideration:
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or related field.
  • Current South Carolina Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license
  • Completion of required clinical hours for SLPA certification.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while following supervision guidelines from a licensed SLP.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations is preferred.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide speech-language therapy services to pediatric clients under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP.
  • Deliver therapy services in homes, daycares, schools, and community settings.
  • Maintain compliance with state, federal, Medicaid, and company documentation standards.
  • Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Document treatment sessions, progress notes, and other required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with supervising SLPs, families, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals to support each child's progress.
  • Educate caregivers on strategies to encourage communication outside of therapy sessions as directed by the supervising SLP.
  • Assist in preparing therapy materials and activities.
