Oversee and maintain the Chemistry department workflow and ensure the department follows safety and quality assurance procedures. This includes reagent supply usage, maintenance flow, instrument training, and training documents.

• Support PathGroup’s mission, vision, goals, and management
• Provide scientific oversight of timely selection, development and validation of assays in the LC/MS-MS area. Assist in strategic development of the laboratory services.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory regulatory requirements.
• Support all processes involved with Quality Management, including solving problems, developing procedures, and trending and reporting data.
• Implement and maintain effective departmental Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement programs and monitors.
• Organize QC lot changes tracking expirations and shipment process per CAP.
• Review reports from laboratory equipment to ensure efficient operation.
• Maintain calibration programs for testing equipment that affect quality.
• Ensure continuity between all areas of the department, including procedures, validations, and inspection readiness.
• Maintain effective employee relations by sustaining an ethical, non-discriminatory and safe work environment and establishing effective communication lines.
• Assist in establishing and executing departmental long‑ and short‑term plans.
• Become familiar with and abide by the Corporate Compliance Program and all Corporate policies, including Privacy and Security policies.
• Follow guidelines and SOPs for reviewing and releasing work.
• Support training programs by writing SOPs and working with Medical Technologists to ensure everyone is knowledgeable on instrumentation and workflow.
• Review and monitor LCMS consumables and comparative inventory.

• Bachelor’s degree in science.
• Master’s Degree.
• National certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as applicable, or a Medical Technologist (MT) preferred.
• Maintains appropriate continuing education to increase basic competency.

• Must have proven track record in physician, employee and client relationships and operational performances.
• Experience with the validation protocol for LCMS testing.
