What You Will Be Doing:
  • Scrum master: Be able to manage and drive end-to-end sprint process for various engineering teams, facilitate product managers and engineering managers to conduct sprint planning, clarify requirements and prioritize tasks, drive team stand-up, monitor development progress, coordinate cross-team collaborations, organize QA testing and drive bug resolution; Work with stakeholders to deliver product new features and improvements on time and in high quality
  • Engineering operation metrics runner: Own and run metrics for the entire engineering team to monitor team and individual's development productivity and support efficiency. Deliver and analyze the metric every sprint and drive the improvement initiatives
  • QA testing coordinator: Coordinate QA efforts for engineering developments and bug fixing in order to meet the system release schedule
  • System release scope controller: Per engineers' development progress and product managers' demands, keep track control the system release scope for both quarterly main release and ad-hoc hot fixes. Become the go-to person of what will be released, and more importantly, drive engineers to line up with the release schedule, manage code cherry-picks, manage different code branches
  • Drive cross-team special engineering projects
  • System release facilitator and organizer: Own system release process, organize and oversee each system release activities with hands-on leadership. Manage the engineering war room and customer service team communications. Effectively anticipate and plan for risks and contingencies, proactively documenting and communicating them to stakeholders
  • Drive the incident response process, handling communications and postmortems to mitigate similar problems in the future
  • Facilitate and participate in regular status meetings to capture meeting minutes, drive follow-ups and prepare status reports for senior leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or STEM discipline or experience in software environment
  • Hands-on technical system operation experiences
  • Hands-on enterprise cloud software experiences
  • Experience with good understanding of agile software development methodology, e.g. Scrum. Good experience with Jira at the administrator level
  • Ability to break down complex projects and requirements into trackable milestones
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels within an organization
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Obsession with process, deadlines and accountability
  • Resourceful, detailed-oriented, self-motivated and proactive mentality

Bonus Points
  • Background in machine learning or data science
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS etc.) and/or big data infrastructure
  • Skills and knowledge of facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, and transparency
