Director of Processing Center Operations

Passport Global Inc

Elizabeth, NJ • On-site

Full-time

Posted 4 days ago

Job description

About the Role
Following our acquisition by Global-e, we're investing heavily in the operational infrastructure that will support the next phase of our growth. At the center of that investment is our processing center network - the operational backbone that powers every international shipment moving through Passport.
We're looking for a Director of Processing Center Operations to build what comes next.
Reporting directly to the COO of Passport Global, you'll own our Origin Processing Center (OPC) network and have the rare opportunity to shape how it evolves over the coming years. You'll lead three US sorting and processing operations today located by EWR, LAX, and ORD while designing the operation we'll need tomorrow. You'll be responsible for launching an expanded flagship New Jersey facility, implementing automation, building scalable operating systems, and creating an organization capable of supporting significant future growth.
This is not a role for someone looking to maintain an existing operation. We're looking for a builder - someone who has successfully stood up facilities, transformed warehouse / processing center operations, and developed high-performing teams. Someone who brings proven playbooks, challenges the status quo, and knows how to turn operational complexity into a competitive advantage.
You'll spend as much time on the warehouse floor as you will in planning meetings - coaching leaders, building systems from ground up, solving problems, and building an operation that scales. As our network grows, you'll also help expand Passport's processing center footprint internationally, beginning with the UK, while helping define the long-term strategy for processing centers operations across the business.
If you're excited by the opportunity to build, lead, and leave a lasting mark on a rapidly growing logistics network, we'd love to talk.
What You'll Do
  • Lead Passport's processing center operations, owning day-to-day execution across safety, quality, throughput, labor productivity, service levels, and cost
  • Build the next generation of our processing center network, including launching and scaling our expanded New Jersey facility with new automation, systems, labor models, and operating processes
  • Create structure in ambiguous environments, identifying what needs to be measured, where performance gaps exist, and what systems, routines, and capabilities must be built without requiring heavy direction
  • Develop high-performing leaders, directly managing three OPC Managers (one Lead) and three Operations Administrators while fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Own the processing center operations P&L, balancing customer experience, operational performance, labor efficiency, and cost
  • Create the operating system for scale by implementing standardized KPIs, operating rhythms, SOPs, and management routines across all facilities
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean principles, industrial engineering, operational analytics, and hands-on problem solving
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Transportation, Finance, and external logistics partners to continuously improve the end-to-end operation
  • Shape Passport's future processing center footprint, including automation investments, additional capacity, and future international expansion

What Success Looks Like
Within your first 12 months, you will have:
  • Successfully launched Passport's expanded New Jersey processing center
  • Standardized operating procedures, KPIs, and management systems across all U.S. facilities
  • Increased network capacity while improving productivity, quality, and service levels
  • Coached & developed a high-performing leadership team with clear ownership and accountability
  • Established the operating rhythms & KPI dashboards that enable proactive operational management
  • Delivered measurable improvements in throughput, labor efficiency, and operating cost
  • Built the roadmap for Passport's future processing center network, including international expansion

You May Be a Great Fit If You
  • Have 7+ years leading high-volume processing center, warehouse, distribution, parcel, manufacturing, sortation, or fulfillment operations
  • Have led multi-site warehouse operations with responsibility for operational performance, people leadership, and financial results.
  • Have built, launched, expanded, or transformed warehouse / processing center operations-not simply maintained them
  • Bring a strong foundation in Lean, Industrial Engineering, Six Sigma, Operations Engineering, or other structured continuous improvement methodologies
  • Have successfully implemented warehouse automation, material handling systems, or other operational technologies
  • Are highly analytical and use data, KPIs, and operational metrics to drive better decisions
  • Have experience with processing machinery, labor management systems, and operational reporting tools. Experience with SQL, BI platforms, AI-enabled workflows, or similar analytical tools is a plus
  • Love being on the warehouse floor-coaching leaders, solving problems firsthand, and continuously improving the operation
  • Thrive in fast-growing environments where you have the opportunity to build, improve, and scale

Location
This role is based in the New York City / Northern New Jersey metro area. This is a highly operational leadership role that requires a regular presence in our OPC network, particularly during the buildout and ramp-up of our expanded New Jersey facility. We expect this leader to spend time where they can have the greatest operational impact - whether that's on the warehouse floor, working alongside site leaders, or partnering with cross-functional teams.
Regular travel (approximately 20-30%) between Passport OPC locations is expected, along with international travel as our network expands.
