What is passive income?

Passive income refers to earnings that are generated with minimal ongoing effort or active involvement. Common sources of passive income include rental properties, dividend-paying stocks, royalties, and certain online businesses. The goal of passive income is to create a steady flow of money that does not require constant time and work, allowing individuals to earn while focusing on other pursuits or enjoying more free time. However, most passive income streams require some initial investment of time, money, or resources to set up. It's important to research and understand the risks and requirements before starting any passive income venture.

About AdOnAir

AdOnAir is a rapidly growing ad-tech startup that helps local businesses monetize their unused digital screens (TVs, displays) by turning them into dynamic advertising platforms. We provide an easy-to-use SaaS solution that generates passive income for screen owners while creating hyper-local advertising opportunities for the community.

The Role: Local Sales & Community Growth

We are seeking a highly motivated and personable Local Business Development Representative to drive sales and growth across the Ann Arbor territory. This is a crucial, field-based role centered on direct, in-person engagement with potential screen-owning businesses. You will be AdOnAir’s face in the community, responsible for identifying, pitching, and closing new screen partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Territory Management: Systematically target, visit, and pitch a high volume of local businesses (restaurants, salons, retail, offices, etc.) within the Ann Arbor area.

  • Direct Sales & Persuasion: Clearly communicate the value proposition of AdOnAir: generating passive income for the business and supporting hyper-local community advertising.

  • Goal Adherence: Consistently meet or exceed weekly and monthly sales quotas for new screen partner onboarding.

  • Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with business owners and managers to facilitate smooth onboarding and long-term partnership.

  • Reporting: Track all sales activities, pipeline progress, and territory data, providing weekly reports to the leadership team.

What You Bring

  • Education: Recent college graduate (typically within the last 1-2 years) with a degree in any field.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently pitch and articulate complex concepts simply and convincingly to business owners.

  • Personal Connection: Highly personable, energetic, and thrives in face-to-face interactions.

  • Drive & Resilience: A relentless, goal-oriented mindset necessary for direct, commission-based sales.

  • Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the Ann Arbor business landscape is a plus.

Compensation Structure

This position features a highly competitive, primarily commission-based pay structure to reward high performance and results. A small, guaranteed base salary will be provided to support initial efforts, ensuring high earning potential for top performers.
