Position Summary
The Town of Milton is accepting applications for the part-time position of Concession Shift Leader. This position is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the smooth operation of concessions with an emphasis on food preparation, serving customers and maintaining a sanitary work area. Duties include assisting in providing direction to part-time concession attendants as well as inventory management in a face paced environment while focusing on exceptional customer service.
This position is a 9-month part time contract from September 2026 to June 2027 with the possibility of renewal. Successful candidates must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.Major Job Responsibilities
  • Assign work and provide direction, support and leadership to concession attendants

  • Provide excellent customer service

  • Emphasis on food preparation, serving customers and maintaining a sanitary work area

  • Ensure accurate cash handling; balance cash at end of shift

  • Follow procedures for the opening and/or closing of concessions

  • Stock shelves and display items in an organized manner

  • Maintain equipment in an organized and clean manner

  • Complete all inventory functions. Provide supervisor updates of opportunities after shifts.

  • Assist in orientation and training of concession staff

  • Assist with orders, deliveries and inventory management

  • Access to transportation to travel between work locations in a timely manner is required, as successful candidate(s) may be required to travel between different camp sites

  • Assist in special events as required

  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs

  • Comply with all health and safety practices as it relates to the work, standard operating guidelines and the Occupational Health & Safety Act

  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum grade11 education

  • Minimum one (1) year experience with food preparation and cash handling

  • Must possess strong communication and customer service skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills as well as mature judgment and diplomacy in sensitive situations

  • Strong math skills

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening dated within 6 months as a condition of employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using POS is an asset

  • Standard First Aid/CPR Certification is an asset

  • Safe Food Handlers Certification is an asset
