Part-Time Building Custodian - Alcott Center & Community Arts Center
Rate of pay: $16 - $21, depending on experience
Job Summary:
The Building Custodian is responsible for properly maintaining the inside of the assigned facility. Employees in this position must use a variety of technical skills in manual labor activities. The employee must be available weekends and weekday evenings. Hours and shift assignments may vary, depending on staffing and/or seasonal needs. This is a part-time, non-exempt position.
Qualifications:
High School, trade or vocational school graduate.
Minimum of two years' experience in building custodial operations or related field.
The Building Custodian may perform duties lifting 50 pounds frequently.
Essential Functions:
1. Assists facility patrons as required.
2. Maintains grounds, classrooms, offices, theater and service areas according to accepted cleaning standards and safety practices during assigned shifts.
3. Regularly cleans windows, toilets, tables, chairs, light fixtures and walls. Properly disposes of garbage and compiles with recycling policy of agency.
4. Maintains carpeted and hard surface floors including vacuuming, cleaning, striping, mopping waxing, polishing and dusting of floors.
5. Completes set up of tables, chairs and other equipment for events, rentals, and/or programs scheduled to occur during the assigned shift.
6. Assists in maintaining and storing CAC and Alcott Center inventory of household cleaning supplies, lavatory supplies and janitorial equipment.
7. Helps prevent accidents by eliminating hazardous conditions and reporting hazardous behavior to immediate supervisor at the facility during assigned shift.
8. Assists in monitoring heating and air conditioning units to maintain proper temperatures and efficiency.
9. Adheres to opening and closing procedures to maintain building security during and after hours.
10. Be the on-site contact for signing in and signing out rentals, and providing assistance.
11. Participates in snow removal operation at the facility.
12. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Monday: 3:00pm - 9:30pm
Friday (evenings)
Saturday/Sunday (all day - hours vary)
