Job description

Job Description:

In support of NASA Langley Research Center's Aeronautics Systems Engineering Branch, AMA is seeking two part-time interns to support distributed sensing flight test activities. Specifically, AMA is seeking candidates to support work to evaluate radar and vision detection and tracking algorithms. These algorithms are being designed to detect crewed and uncrewed aircraft and wildlife. This effort is supporting NASA's Air Traffic Management and Safety Project. This position will support onsite NASA LaRC activities and remote work activities at 5-10 hours per week over September through December. Pay rate is: $25-$27.69/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Support flight experiments testing algorithms through data collection
  • Label collected data including radar and vision data
  • Support software development activities related to distributed testing
  • Documentation of procedures, experiments and findings

Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Engineering or Computer Science fields
  • Demonstrated experience in sensor-based data collection
  • Application of data collection with the aviation domain highly desired
  • Understanding of aircraft systems operations highly desired
  • Must work well in highly collaborative dynamic environments with diverse team
  • Strong communications skills, written and verbal
