Position Summary

The Scalable Workforce Team Member at EnviroScience is responsible for supporting environmental projects that require flexible, short-term, or project-based staffing. This position works within cross-functional teams to provide assistance in fieldwork, data collection, lab analysis, and reporting, as needed. The role is designed to offer scalability and adaptability to projects, allowing EnviroScience to meet client needs efficiently, while maintaining high standards in environmental consulting, research, and compliance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Fieldwork and Data Collection

  • Perform site assessments, habitat surveys, and environmental monitoring under the supervision of senior team members.

  • Collect water, soil, and air samples in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Assist in species identification and population monitoring in both aquatic and terrestrial environments.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Compile and analyze environmental data using software such as Excel, GIS, or proprietary systems.

  • Assist in writing reports and preparing documentation for clients and regulatory agencies.

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of fieldwork, lab results, and analysis.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work with interdisciplinary teams, including scientists, project managers, and environmental engineers to meet project goals.

  • Communicate findings and updates to project leads and senior staff in a timely manner.

  • Provide support in client meetings by preparing data summaries or background research.

Compliance and Safety

  • Follow all health and safety protocols while working on-site and in the lab.

  • Ensure all environmental work is conducted in line with federal, state, and local regulations, including the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and other relevant environmental laws.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or a related field.

  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in environmental fieldwork or lab work, preferably in a consulting setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field is highly desirable.

  • Experience working with environmental regulations and permitting processes.

  • Familiarity with species identification and habitat assessment methodologies.

  • Certification in first aid, CPR, or OSHA safety training.

  • Familiarity with environmental sampling techniques and data collection methods.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and GIS software.

Work Environment

We need to recruit a special type of candidate. We enjoy and appreciate collaboration, but we all work very independently, with minimal supervision. We are on the road a lot (some overnight travel), outdoors in all kinds of weather, and sometimes in remote and challenging locations. This position is a remote hybrid role, meaning employees will work remotely but may be required to come into the Stow, Ohio office to retrieve their company vehicle each day or on an as needed basis for training.

Standard office equipment will be provided to work in the office and at home - a dedicated space at home to work is also required. Uninterrupted home-based internet is a must in your home to attend and host video calls, along with a minimum bandwidth speed of 20 mbps. If you do not have an in home office space or cannot meet the internet needs, an office space will be provided for you in the company's Stow, Ohio office.

Working Conditions: On-site work, outdoors, active ERs and construction sites. Overnight travel can be expected along with long days of field work. Ability to work in fast-paced environment.

Travel Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field sites, sometimes on short notice.

  • % of travel time: 90-100% depending on project work location
