Position Summary
The Fox School of Business at Temple University is seeking an accomplished financial services executive to serve as the Executive Director of the Fischer-Shain Center for Financial Services. This unique part-time leadership opportunity is ideal for an established banking or financial services professional who is passionate about developing future industry leaders while leveraging a distinguished professional network to strengthen connections between academia and practice. The Executive Director will play a pivotal role in expanding industry partnerships, engaging senior executives and advisory board members, cultivating philanthropic support, and creating transformative experiences that prepare students for successful careers in commercial banking and financial services. The Fischer-Shain Center for Financial Services serves as a gateway for students to careers in the financial services industry through programming such as: case study competitions, practice-oriented conferences, research grant sponsorship, industry guest speakers, scholarships, and other professional development opportunities. The Executive Director will lead these efforts, with a focus on cultivating external partnerships, and will collaborate frequently with Fox leadership, the Center's Advisory Board, industry professionals, and prospective donors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Hourly Rate: $41.00-$46.00/hr.
Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree
* At least 7 years of experience in the financial services industry
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
* Commercial banking experience
* Master's degree
Required Skills and Abilities
* Strong knowledge of the commercial banking industry
* Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to form effective working relationships with diverse groups of industry professionals, faculty, staff, students, and prospective donors
* Skill in envisioning, designing, planning, executing, and leading industry-focused events, both virtual and in-person
* Ability to monitor and manage budgets effectively
* Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and other standard software applications
* Demonstrated ability or potential to connect students to the commercial banking industry in ways that build professional confidence, readiness, and long-term career awareness
* Ability to cultivate and expand a professional network, with the ability to develop new industry and individual relationships
* Skill in engaging and communicating with an advisory board, including the ability to present program progress, articulate a vision for center growth, and advance a culture of philanthropic investment in the center's mission
Preferred Skills and Abilities
* Ability to teach one or more undergraduate classes in areas related to commercial banking
Essential Duties
* Manages the Center's Advisory Board, organizes meetings, recruits board members, solicits curriculum feedback from board members, collaborates to identify networking, internship, and employment opportunities in the financial services industry, with a focus on banking
* Collaborates with Fox Development Office staff to identify and cultivate philanthropic gifts and oversee scholarship application and award process
* Oversees event programming, develops topics and formats, recruits potential partners, panelists, and industry guests
* Prepares and guides students for effective participation in co- and extracurricular activities focused on the banking industry
* Contributes collaboratively with department and school faculty, and school staff, to prepare students for career success
This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
