Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Intern

  • This position will consist of learning the necessary tools of a Manufacturing Engineer. The intern will then use these tools to help develop projects across the plant that help drive efficiency gains, cost reduction, and improved ergonomics.

Location: This is a part-time internship that will be onsite at our Kalamazoo facility for a few hours a day Monday through Friday.

What you will do:

  • Contributes as a member of the Engineering team by developing projects that will contribute toward company goals.
  • Investigates and analyzes the cost and reliability of using various equipment and processes.
  • Studies performance and troubles in existing equipment or processes and recommends improvements through redesign or modification.
  • Designs parts using 3D software and implements them in the manufacturing process.
  • Executes validation for any process changes or equipment upgrades.
  • Creates standard operating procedures and work instructions for process changes.
  • Works with other departments in the facility to drive projects forward.
  • Calculates cost impacts and ROI for projects that were implemented.
  • Follows up to see that schedules are met.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Currently enrolled & seeking a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering. Sophomore or higher class standing is preferred
  • Experience with basic engineering courses
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • CAD or Solid Works experience preferred

Pay Rate: $22/hr
