Parttime Software Developer information

Can you work part-time as a programmer?

Part-time software developers can work reduced hours compared to full-time roles, often focusing on specific projects or tasks. Many companies offer flexible schedules, and part-time positions may require proficiency in programming languages, version control, and development tools. Availability depends on employer needs and the developer's skills and certifications.

Will AI replace developers in 2026?

Part-time software developers will continue to play a vital role in creating, testing, and maintaining software, as AI tools are designed to assist rather than fully replace human programmers. While AI can automate certain coding tasks, human expertise remains essential for complex problem-solving, design, and understanding user needs, especially in dynamic work environments. Developers who adapt by learning AI and automation tools will remain valuable in the job market.

What engineers make $300,000 a year?

Senior software engineers, especially those with specialized skills in areas like machine learning, cloud computing, or cybersecurity, can earn $300,000 or more annually, often through a combination of base salary, bonuses, and stock options. High-paying roles are typically found in large tech companies or startups with significant funding, and require extensive experience and advanced technical expertise.

What engineers make $500,000?

Senior software engineers, especially those in high-demand fields like machine learning, cloud computing, or cybersecurity, can earn $500,000 or more annually, often through a combination of base salary, bonuses, and stock options. Achieving this level typically requires extensive experience, advanced skills, and working at large tech companies or startups with significant funding.

How do part-time software developers typically balance project deadlines and workload with reduced hours?

Part-time software developers often coordinate closely with their teams to ensure tasks are clearly defined and deadlines are realistic given their limited availability. Effective communication and setting expectations with both management and colleagues are crucial for managing workload. Many part-time developers use project management tools to track progress and prioritize tasks, which helps maintain productivity without overextending themselves. Description:

About Our Family

We're a laid-back, easy-going family navigating the beautiful chaos of life with newborn twin boys. One parent works from home as a software developer, so you'll have a friendly face nearby — but we respect boundaries and won't be hovering. We're English-speaking, non-religious, and love taking walks with the kids. We're always open to fresh ideas, activities, and approaches. We have two elderly, independent cats who require no care from the nanny.

Meet Owen & Henry

Owen — loves snuggles and is a tummy time champ. Has reflux and receives Pepcid morning & evening; requires extra upright time (15–20 min) after each feeding.

Henry — more independent but equally snuggly; a legendary side-eye giver. Also has mild reflux and receives Pepcid in the morning. Still building his tummy time skills.

→ Both boys are 6 months old (born December 24, 2025) and love walks, being read to, music, and snuggles.

→ Feeding is on demand, approximately every 3–4 hours. Bathtime is handled on weekends — not a nanny responsibility.

Role & Responsibilities

→ Primary care for twin infant boys during scheduled hours

→ Feeding (bottle or breast milk as directed), burping, and upright post-feed time for reflux management → Administering oral Pepcid as scheduled (mornings for both boys)

→ Tummy time, age-appropriate play, reading, and music

→ Stroller walks in the neighborhood

→ Nap monitoring and soothing

→ Light tidying related to the children (bottles, laundry, play area)

→ Communicating daily updates to parents

Weekly Schedule

Tuesday: 8am - 5pm (9 hours)

Thursday: 8am-5pm (9 hours)

Friday: 12pm-5pm (5 hours)

(Thursday is flexible, it can potentially be a different weekday but would need to be an 8-5 shift.)

Approximately 22 hours per week.

Ideal Candidate

→ Experience caring for newborns and/or multiples strongly preferred

→ Comfortable administering basic infant medications

→ Knowledgeable about infant reflux and feeding support

→ Calm, patient, and nurturing — especially in a two-infant environment

→ CPR & First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)

→ Reliable, communicative, professional and trustworthy

→ Available for a 9 – 12-month commitment, with potential to continue as the boys grow

Compensation

$30–32/hr

Part-time · In-home position Start date: July 17th 2026 Commitment: 6–12 months
