ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Is knowledgeable, proficient and consistently adheres to receiving policies and procedures including: shrink awareness; point of sale and inventory hand unit proficiency; price look up; informing vendors of receiving policies; maintaining signature logs; backroom sweep sheet maintenance; maintain daily, weekly and monthly equipment logs; verifies item count, cost, and quality on all invoices; forklift and pallet jack certified; exception reporting; pallet tracking; invoicing and filing; reclamation; and invoice reports.
  2. Ensures proper processing and safe delivery of invoices, other documents and records to the store office
  3. Inspects receipt of products for concealed damage. Ensures proper recording, storage and handling of any damaged items
  4. Maintains proper security of back door exits by inspecting all items and containers leaving the area, properly securing and locking of exit doors when not attended.
  5. Responsible for maintaining a controlled receiving area, organizing product and supplies in a sanitary, clean, secure and safe manner
  6. Continually maintains a high level of productivity
Requirements:

MINIMUM AGE:

18 years of age.

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:

Certification required for operation of forklift and/or pallet jack. City, county, state, and/or federal certifications may be required.

COMMUNICATION:

Able to write, speak, hear and understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to pages, requests, team members and guests. Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.

COMPUTER:

Basic computer skills required.

EQUIPMENT:

Required to use or operate pallet jack, forklift, box cutters, ordering machine, computer, two-wheeler, etc.

EXPERIENCE:

Previous receiving experience preferred.

MATH:

Basic math skills require including using units of money, weight, measurement, volume addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages required. An understanding of gross projections, transmittals, weekly summaries, invoices, transfers, inventory, and other paperwork as assigned by store management is required.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS

Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable store environment with the possibility of frequent exposure to hot or cold conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries. Also requires standing, walking and bending throughout the entire work day and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 30 pounds from location to location.
