Salary Range Starting At: $15.00/ per hour

Job Description:

As the Receptionist you will provide support to the Corps Officers, other employees, and office visitors by handling a variety of tasks and managing the front office in order to ensure that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

What You Will Do:

  • Greet all persons, whether in person or via phone in a friendly, courteous manner
  • Ensure messages are answered in a timely manner
  • Assist the Corps Officer as needed with general office and business matters
  • Develop and maintain collaborations with the Corps and community agencies
  • Schedule appointments for Social Services.
  • Produce and distribute correspondence, memos, letters, faxes and forms.
  • Create and send Thank You notes to donors
  • Assist in referrals for clients as needed
  • Organize and schedule meetings and appointments for Social Services as directed.
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
  • Operate a variety of office machines/programs.
  • Develop, prepare, update and maintain records and filing system.
  • Assist with Volunteer development and logistics
  • Assist with data entry pertaining to statistics and Christmas assistance.
  • Communicating and receiving clients for appointments.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: At least one year of record keeping is preferred, along with one year of hospitality experience.

Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background checks results will be reviewed.

Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm within the first 30 days of employment.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Basic knowledge of Spanish (preferred)
