  • Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget
  • Develop and manage project budgets, staffing plans, invoicing, and extra work requests
  • QA/QC drainage projects
  • Train and mentor junior staff on drainage concepts and design protocols and procedures
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and oversee technical staff and subconsultants
  • Monitor project performance related to cost, quality, risk, staffing, and schedule
  • Lead or participate in project-specific marketing pursuits, proposal preparation, and client presentations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local agency requirements, including permitting and regulatory submissions
  • Conduct regular project progress meetings and ensure contractual requirements are met
  • Support staff development through mentoring, supervision, and performance feedback as needed

Ideal Experience & Background

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience managing transportation and highway infrastructure projects
  • Strong background in drainage design, with experience designing storm sewers, detention systems, stormwater modeling, and compensatory storage.
  • Experience working with public agencies such as:

  • Ability to independently manage complex projects and exercise sound engineering judgment
  • Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with project contracts, scopes, and agency design standards
  • Experience using drainage software including Bentley Drainage and Utilities Module, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Win TR-20, HY-8, StormCAD, etc.

Qualifications

  • Formal project management training preferred
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred (or ability to obtain)
  • Full understanding of industry practices, company procedures, and public agency requirements
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification preferred or ability to obtain within six months of start of employment.

Why Join Peralte‑Clark?

  • Work on meaningful transportation projects throughout Illinois
  • Collaborative, employee-focused culture
  • Opportunities for leadership, growth, and long-term career development
  • Flexible work arrangements, including potential part-time consideration for qualified candidates
