The Graduate Assistant will support first-year OTD students in mastering complex content areas such as neuroscience, neurorehabilitation, and human movement analysis, while also assisting faculty in classroom and laboratory preparation and management. This position offers opportunities to reinforce academic knowledge, contribute to a collaborative learning environment, and gain transferable professional skills.

Fall Semester Responsibilities
The Graduate Assistant will serve as a student liaison for the following courses:
  • DOCCT 825: Neuroscience
  • DOCCT 821: Human Movement Analysis
Responsibilities include:
  • Providing academic support and tutoring to first-year students
  • Assisting with classroom and lab setup and breakdown
  • Supporting student assignments, projects, and group activities
  • Aiding faculty/staff with quiz development and grading and special projects, as needed

Spring Semester Responsibilities
During the spring semester, the Graduate Assistant will continue serving as a liaison with particular attention to:
  • DOCCT 831: Neurorehab Techniques
Duties include:
  • Facilitating student understanding of course material through one-on-one and group support
  • Assisting with lab organization and preparation for OT courses
Additional duties
  • Performing additional academic or administrative support tasks to fulfill weekly hourly requirements, as assigned by faculty or staff
Additional Expectations
  • Maintain inventory and cleanliness of lab areas
  • Assist students in preparing for lab practicals
  • Collaborate with faculty across the program to support instructional and operational needs
  • Demonstrate adaptability and attention to detail in all aspects of the position
  • Expected to be self-directed and motivated to assist students and faculty.

Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled as a second-year student in the Ruskin Occupational Therapy Doctorate program
  • Successful academic performance in neuroscience, human movement analysis, and related coursework
  • Cumulative GPA through Spring 2026 of 3.7 or higher
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Demonstrates professionalism, initiative, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Gannon University and the OTD Program

Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands
Should be able to bend, lift, push and pull to set up lab equipment
May be asked to lift up to 50lbs.
May be asked to walk campus multiple times a day
