  • Local autonomy with national support
  • Career mobility and development opportunities
  • A collaborative, inclusive environment where your wellbeing comes first

  • Opportunities for growth and learning within the hospital, a welcoming team atmosphere, and the ability to work alongside an experienced medical team. We value compassion, professionalism, teamwork, and creating a positive experience for both our clients and patients.
  • We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and their pets and wants to be part of a positive, fast-paced veterinary hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service in-person, over the phone, and during high-stress situations.
  • Manages lobby flow, addresses concerns, calms distressed owners, and schedules appointments.
  • Handles basic medical emergencies for pets and owners, ensuring safety and well-being.
  • Assists with medication pickups, inquiries, and provides information about services and products.
  • Inputs and manages data in practice management software, including billing and accounts.
  • Assists with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes, and maintaining records.
  • Reconciles cash drawer and performs end-of-day duties for accurate financial transactions.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software and systems
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team
  • Professional, dependable, and positive attitude
  • Ability to remain calm and compassionate during stressful or emotional situations
  • Comfortable working around dogs and cats
  • Willingness to learn veterinary terminology, hospital procedures, and workflows

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Previous customer service, receptionist, administrative, or veterinary experience preferred
  • Veterinary receptionist experience is a plus, but not required

Schedule

  • Part-Time, Monday-Friday from 8AM-5PM based on hospital needs and some weekends
  • Typically, Monday, Wednesday, Fridays, and some weekends, depending on the week
  • You may be scheduled some mornings or just some afternoons depending on hospital needs

At PetVet Care Centers, we're committed to a Culture of Care — for pets, for the people who love them, and for the team members who make it all possible. With more than 400 hospitals across the U.S. and a team of over 11,000 dedicated professionals, including 1700+ veterinarians, we offer a unique blend of local leadership and national support that helps our hospitals thrive.
