Located in Baltimore's cultural center near the historic Mount Vernon neighborhood, UMMC Midtown Campus is a 180-bed, community teaching hospital with a focus on helping people manage chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary conditions, and infectious diseases.


Job Description

**FOR NEW GRADS**

The ideal candidate for this position should have:

  • Graduate from an approved Nursing school
  • Currently licensed in the State of Maryland
  • BLS provider completion
  1. Performs assessments and reassessments, as appropriate for the patient's needs, collecting data from all sources to assist with formulating a nursing diagnosis.
  2. Develops an individualized Plan of Care, based on the patient's assessment, with mutual, realistic and measurable goals and documents this thoroughly in the patient's record.
  3. Coordinates and directs available resources and personnel in developing and following the Plan of Care.
  4. Performs treatments, including medication administration, as ordered by the physician and carries out nursing interventions in accordance with the Plan of Care.
  5. Evaluates the patient's response to treatments/interventions through reassessment and revises the Plan of Care as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from an approved Nursing School. Positive interpersonal/communication/supervisory skills. Computer skills necessary to document, review information, and send information.
  • Currently licensed in the State of Maryland.
  • ACLS Provider Completion within 1 year of employment in the following departments: ICU/IMC, PACU, Interventional Radiology, GI Lab, and ED.
  • PALS Completion within 1 year of employment in the following departments: PACU and Emergency Department.
  • BLS Provider Completion.
