Job Overview

The College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning at the University of Cincinnati is a world-renowned college, home to a number of highly ranked programs, and part of the largest public research university in Southwest Ohio.

The School of Planning within the College of DAAP prepares professionals for distinguished practice and spatially-based approaches with a focus on livable places, and the creation of communities that enrich people’s lives. The six academic programs within the School of Planning (Bachelor in Urban Planning, Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies, Bachelor of Science in Horticulture, Master of Community Planning, Master of Landscape Architecture and PhD in Urban and Regional Development Planning) offer specific coursework about the planning and design of innovative futures for urban communities and regions. The School of Planning’s graduate planning program is ranked 4th in the Midwest and 17th in North America by Planetizen.

The School of Planning in the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning at the University of Cincinnati is seeking candidates to fill adjunct positions on an as needed basis for lecture, seminar, or studio courses in the following subjects: Visualization, Representation, and Computer Graphics; Historic Preservation; Housing Systems; Introduction to Geographic Information Systems; Site Analysis and Design; Site Planning; Transportation Planning; Urban Design.  Applications will be collected in to our general pool of applicants. On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member’s primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to students.

Essential Functions
  • On a part-time basis, conduct and teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses and seminars.
  • May serve as an academic advisor for students and evaluate student coursework.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of responsibilities.
  • Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or a field related to specific course content.

      • Prior teaching experience.
      • Documented work experience in field related to specific course content.
      Physical Requirements/Work Environment
      • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
