Job description

St. Mary's Annapolis Parish is seeking candidates for a Front Desk Receptionist. The Front Desk Receptionist will play a role in welcoming guests at St. Mary's Parish. This person will provide receptionist services and clerical support for the parish office. This is a part-time opportunity working 10-15 hours per week, 3 hours in the evening.
Essential Functions
  • Greet parishioners, visitors and guests.
  • Welcoming all who contact or visit the Parish Office and provide appropriate assistance, including intake for baptism, weddings, and funeral.
  • Answer, screen and route telephone calls; take messages as necessary.
  • Receive, log and distribute mail, documents, packages and courier deliveries.
  • Foster a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
  • Knowledge of church services, missions, and outreach opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Office Manager.
  • Maintain a tidy reception area and church office.

Position Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • General knowledge of the Catholic Church, including Sacraments.
  • Ability to project a courteous, warm, and welcoming, and empathetic image to the public and to all constituents, whether on the telephone or in person.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor in all situations.
  • Must model Christian attitudes and behaviors and adhere to the Archdiocesan Code of Conduct.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred.

Range: $15.00, Hourly
