Job Overview:
The Distribution Center Driver is responsible for delivering orders and collecting Store returns, empty containers, and unsold merchandise using a company box truck along designated routes. They must comply with all DOT rules and regulations, as well as Local, State, and Federal Traffic Laws and Driving rules.
Job Responsibilities:
• Review daily schedule provided by the DC Dispatcher, Lead, or Manager.
• Verify total number of pallets/totes to be loaded per location.
• Load box truck with designated DC equipment.
• Drive box truck to deliver parts to Company Store per scheduled route.
• Collect Store returns, empty containers, and unsold merchandise.
• Perform daily vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues to the Location Manager or Lead.
• Clean the inside of the truck every Friday afternoon or as needed.
• Assist with warehouse duties, such as stocking shelves or racks, during downtime when not on routes.
Qualifications and Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license for the appropriate state, and have a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Strong ability to communicate and stay organized through attention to detail.
Physical Demands: To perform the duties of this job the employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment and must be able to sit at a computer for long periods of time. The occasional heavy lifting of 50lbs or more may be required.
Drivers of XL Parts and The Parts House vehicles and non-company vehicles are responsible for ensuring the vehicle is free of debris, clean and can operate safely during each use. The following are basics to ensuring vehicles are clean and safely operated in representation of XL Parts and The Parts House. Tasks required but are not limited to - clean high-touch areas; clean frequently touched surfaces, such as the steering wheel, gear shift, and door handles. If your mats are dirty or sandy, shake them out; when needed use a vacuum to clean up stubborn dirt. Remove items from under the seats, especially items that can roll, like water bottles. Clean mud or snow off your shoes before driving. Clean up spills immediately to reduce the chance of slips. Throw away trash promptly. It is recommended to complete the above at the beginning and end of the day.
