What you'll do...Position summary Help keep Walmart Transportation running at full speed by delivering high-quality repairs that keep our equipment safe, compliant, and ready for the road. As a Service Shop Repair Technician, you’ll perform minor to intermediate inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and replacements across Walmart equipment—trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, and service vehicles. You’ll use technical and electronic tools, document work accurately, and support warranty processes to ensure repairs are done right the first time. About Transportation Transportation plays a critical role in keeping product moving through our network and into stores. Our service shop teams support that mission by maintaining equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and meeting DOT requirements through consistent, well-documented work. In this role, your repairs and diagnostics directly impact fleet availability and safety while helping the team continuously improve how we maintain and support our equipment. What you’ll do
  • Perform minor to intermediate inspections, repairs, and replacements on Walmart equipment (trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, service vehicles)
  • Create and process work orders; assess needs, identify parts, consult as needed, and select repair solutions
  • Conduct minor diagnostics using technical/electronic equipment on engines, electronics, drivetrains, communication/onboard technology, and minor HVAC
  • Receive fuel drops, monitor safety compliance, and collect/prepare fuel samples and required paperwork
  • Identify warrantable repairs and complete accurate maintenance entries, warranty tags, parts retention, and warranty claims per guidelines
What you’ll bring
  • Experience performing minor to intermediate mechanical repairs on tractors, trailers, or similar equipment
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools/technical equipment to troubleshoot engines, electronics, drivetrains, and minor HVAC
  • Knowledge of DOT-related requirements and safe shop practices in daily work
  • Strong documentation skills for work orders, maintenance system entries, and warranty-related records
  • Familiarity with identifying warrantable work and following parts retention and warranty claim processes

The hourly wage range for this position is $32.50 - $36.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
